Google Duo for Windows PC – Download & Install

Google’s video calling app “Duo” has been launched. Initial responses are great and users are loving the simplicity (some are complaining too !). I personally find this app very easy to use. There is a huge user base who would love to use this app on PC or MAC just like skype. Google has already cleared that the app will be available for android and iOS platforms only. So, does this mean that we can’t use Duo app on our computer or laptop?
No, that’s not the case guys. There is a easy way to accomplish the task. And this is totally legitimate way. The process includes creating an android environment on your PC and using the app. We will be using special softwares designed for this purpose. These are called Android Emulators.
Your personal computer running on Windows or MAC, can be made compatible to the install the Duo app. Read all the instructions given below to get started –
Make sure you have following things ready before getting started –
- .apk file of Duo – Click Here to Download
- Any Good Android Emulator (Choose any one of your Choice and Install it)
I hope you have downloaded the apk file. The next step is to download and install any good Android Emulator for PC. There are various such softwares available but i advise to install either “Bluestacks” or “Andy”Get Bluestacks Now
ORGet Andy NowYou need not to worry for specific set up for 32 bit(X86) or 64 bit(X64). The websites use intelligent technology that automatically detects the platform and provide the correct installer to the users.
Once downloaded, install it just like any other software. Now we are ready to complete our main task i.e. installing Google Duo on PC –
Steps to Install Duo Video Calling App on Windows(7,8,8.1,10) PC
Although the different emulators have different interfaces, the process is same.
Note – We prefer Andy Emulator !
- First of all you need to make sure that the Duo .apk file is on your computer
- Next open up your Android Emulator
- Now go back to the location of the .apk file
- Right click and click on “Open With”
- From the list Choose the name of your Android Emulator tool
- Now the app will be installed and the icon will be placed on the home screen
Note – If you want to do not want to use the .apk file, you can simple open up the Play store, sign in with google account and download it
